Two people were killed at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday when two cars slammed into each other on the busy Highway 401. The two male drivers were killed instantly. Five more riders suffered scratches and bruises. Thick road debris covered the fast lanes. Cleanup crews worked fast to remove rubble. Authorities shut down that stretch of road. Investigators finished their review by around 11 a.m..
