Connor Goldson came through a 13-hour open-heart operation overnight.

He spent Sunday night in the ICU after doctors completed the task.

Goldson wrote a brief post just after midnight to let fans know he's holding steady.

This was the second time in recent months he has needed major surgery.

The defender has now left hospital and is resting at home with his family nearby.

Medical staff have him under observation as he recovers.
