Highway 3 is shut from Hope to Manning Park, impacting local traffic. Wildfire activity rendered both lanes impassable, halting travel. Travellers now exclusively use the Coquihalla Highway, avoiding the closure. The fire near Hope burns northeast of the Coquihalla interchange, releasing thick smoke. Smoke is heavy and readily to see, lowering visibility. A second blaze broke out south of Boston Bar on Tuesday. This second fire covers 300 hectares. It forced officials to close Highway 1 in the same area. Two key routes into southern BC are now closed.
