Latest News About Qantas to repay customers, Virgin retains unused credits

Qantas has dispatched letters or emails to customers to about one million Australian customers.

The communication describes a $105 million settlement for flights that were cancelled amid the pandemic.

The airline reports the payout will be distributed to eligible passengers who lost trips and will be handled over the next few weeks in the coming weeks.

On that day, Virgin Australia announced it still holds $93 million in unused flight credits still dormant.

The sum was disclosed as the airline’s chief executive received a salary increase this year.

Virgin has yet to announce any plan to release the credits so far.
