Ed Harris complained early on about his limited part in the spin-off in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was useless and insisted on exiting. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he exited the set. He later chose to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss tweaked the story and gave his character additional depth. That change led Harris opt to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the part.
