Dame Judi Dench has publicly criticized Petco for alleged poor treatment of birds. The actor, known for her love of parrots, accused the retailer of sourcing birds from breeders who kept them in small and dirty enclosures. Dench called for an end to the sale of birds at Petco, citing PETA's exposure of breeding factory horrors. The criticism comes as Dench has been vocal about her love for parrots and the ethical treatment of animals.
