Liverpool academy product Lewis Koumas wants more first-team minutes under new manager Andoni Iraola. His summer tour opportunity comes after Iraola’s first match in charge saw Liverpool beat Sunderland with a score of 4-2 in Nashville. Sunderland, freshly lost to by Liverpool, now appears as a strong loan option for Koumas. The 21-year-old joined Sunderland’s training camp this week but may face stiff competition for playing time from other local players. Iraola took over on July 24, 2026, with Koumas one of several academy products pushing for greater involvement in the first team.
