Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli returned to the United States on Wednesday. They ended tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. In parallel, thousands of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions tied to the Iran situation. The Tripoli moored at its home port in Okinawa, ending its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force wrapped up joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit freed a seven-day-old seal pup that had been left alone.
