Nirvana's influence celebrated at 2026 VMAs

Nirvana's remaining members, Kurt Cobain's daughter, and Pat Smear received the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the 2026 MTV VMAs. The award honors how much Nirvana altered music and video culture. During their speech, Cobain's daughter and Smear lit up a cigarette. The award showcases Nirvana's big part in making music videos and their lasting influence, 32 years after Cobain passed away.
