Red Lobster has decided to close 163 of its restaurants. The chain has been around for 58 years. This comes amid a bigger wave of closures affecting restaurant chains at the moment.

Some spots are already confirmed. The Palm Desert, California location got the news on a Monday. The Springfield branch will close as well. The company hasn't put out the complete list yet, and they haven't said when all the shutdowns will be done. The closures became public on 30 August 2026. Customers across the country are affected.
