Chelsea Football Club have finalised a club-record £117 million deal for Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. Middlesbrough will keep 20% of any future profit from the sale.
The transfer has sparked worries over its impact on playing time for Enzo Fernández. Rogers’ move stems from Chelsea’s summer spending push under new ownership. The club is also scoping Maxence Lacroix, Jonathan Rowe, Nicolas Jackson and Alejandro Garnacho.
Other clubs tracking reinforcements include Arsenal, which is mulling free-agent John Stones after William Saliba’s World Cup injury prompted a reshuffle in the defence staff.
