England secured the last‑32 with a 2‑1 win over Uruguay. Spain also qualified, defeating Uruguay 3‑0 to secure the last South American spot. Cape Verde, Belgium and Egypt finished the set of new qualifiers, each winning their groups. The five join 27 teams for initial elimination stage.
