A 7.4 tremor struck Mexico’s Pacific coast a little before 6 a.m. on Friday.
A wide tsunami alert was issued for coastal strips across Mexico and Guatemala soon after.
The ground continually trembled, rocking towns further north into Guatemala and El Salvador as well.
Just after 4 a.m., a 7.3 quake shook the same area.
No accounts of injury or collapsed buildings were received after the warnings.
