The Rugby Football League has initiated an inquiry into Wakefield Trinity. Following this St Helens filing a complaint about a contested bid for Harry Robertson.
In a statement, St Helens said it thinks Wakefield could have violated transfer rules. The RFL said it will review the evidence and determine if any breaches occurred.
Team representatives have been requested to submit documents. RFL officials will meet club reps soon.
The findings could impact contracts as the season progresses.
